Situated in the heart of the The Cape eco village of Cape Paterson, this house is the First Passive House in the estate featuring a modern style, designed to suit the block and its surrounds.

I wanted to create a small, sustainable build on a subdivided suburban block that was affordable, as well as a distinctive and happy place to live.

We wanted a truly passive house with a simple modern look.

Geoff’s house is a highly thermally efficient 8.8 star hemp house with exposed slab on ground and slab edge insulation.

Clad in Zincalume steel, the environmentally responsive, modern design of this portside dwelling ties itself to the area through the use of building materials used in the area historically.
